Olapeju E. Sofowora
Lead Consultant
Olapeju E. Sofowora is one of the founding Partners at Abax-OOSA Professionals (Chartered Accountants), with over 30 years of professional experience. She began her career at Coopers & Lybrand (now PriceWaterhouseCoopers), where she earned her Audit Practice License.Â
In 1990, she transitioned to the banking industry, leaving in 2000 to establish Sofowora & Co. (Chartered Accountants) and Binary Consulting Limited. In 2008, she brought her extensive expertise, spanning audit, accountancy, tax, and financial advisory services, to Abax-OOSA Professionals (Chartered Accountants).
Olapeju has made significant contributions to the field of taxation, with notable publications including “A Guide to Taxation in Lagos.” Her thought leadership extends to organizing seminars on Taxation and Enterprise Risk Management and promoting corporate compliance and business risk management.
Olapeju currently serves as a Non-Executive Director on the Board of First City Monument Bank Group. She is a member of the Institute of Directors, and as a staunch advocate for female and youth empowerment, Olapeju is an Associate Member of Women in Management, Politics, and Business (WIMBIZ). She volunteers on different platforms to support the enhancement of education outcomes.
